The Physician Assistant (PA) OR Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work along side of fellowship trained orthopaedic traumatologists in a clinic/inpatient setting. This role may be directly responsible for post op care, ER follow ups, lower acuity orthopaedic care. The role will require someone that would be comfortable making inpatient rounds for the orthopaeidc trauma service as needed. This role would require someone that is comfortable with fracture management and working with patients that have experienced traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.



If Nurse Practitioner - Master's Degree in Nursing. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and equivalent body. Currently licensed in the state of Georgia and/or South Carolina (depending on job location) as an advanced practice nurse by the State's Board of Nursing. Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be fully credentialed by AUHS Credentialing Office to work. OR If Physician's Assistant - Graduated from an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Currently licensed in the state of Georgia and/or South Carolina (depending on job location) to practice medicine through the State's Composite Medical Board. Must maintain status as a certified PA, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education and re-cert. Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be fully credentialed by AUHS Credentialing Office to work.



Orthopaedic experience preferred, but not required. Fracture management preferred, but not required. National specialty certification is applicable to the area of practice. Previous experience working in a hospital or urgent care setting.
