Casper orthopedics is a private practice orthopedic group in central Wyoming.   The group has all fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons and a sports medicine fellowship trained PMNR physician.

2 hand and upper extremity surgeons

Total joint surgeon

Spine surgeon

Foot and ankle surgeon

2 sports medicine surgeons.  My sports partner is a very basic surgeon that does knee scopes, ACL reconstructions, shoulder scopes and mini open rotator cuff repairs.

PMNR physician that does EMG/NCV studies, joint and spine injections, and radiofrequency ablations.

My practice is a broad sports medicine and joint replacement practice.

I do all ages shoulder treatment to include fractures, instability to include complex bone loss cases, rotator cuff disease, shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder arthroplasty, and revision arthroplasty on occasion.

I do all ages knee surgery to include fractures, ACL, patellofemoral instability, multi-ligamentous injuries, osteotomies, meniscus transplants, partial and total knee replacement and occasional revision total knee surgery.

I do all ages hip surgeries to include hip arthroscopy, proximal hamstring repairs, abductor tendon repairs, fractures, and anterior approach total hips.

An ideal replacement for my position is a surgeon that is comfortable with knee, shoulder, and hip sports medicine coverage.   We have 2 other surgeons that are doing shoulder replacements, and a surgeon that is adept at all knee and hip replacements.   These patients are available to treat, but you could be completely occupied with sports if you didn’t desire to engage in the joint replacement realm.

There are not any surgeons in eastern Wyoming who do hip arthroscopy.   If a surgeon felt comfortable with hip arthroscopy, it would be a great addition to your practice.

The practice has x-ray, MRI, a weight bearing CT for lower extremity imaging, PT and OT clinics, a private owned surgery center with overnight capacity, and a walk in clinic.

Casper is a central Wyoming community of about 50-60,000 people.   We have a surrounding community that comes to Casper for health care with a draw of nearly 250,000 people.

There is a 2 surgeon practice in Douglas that is actively trying to expand (45 minutes away), hospital employed surgeons in Gillette (about 2 hours away), hospital employed surgeons in Cheyene (2 ½ hours away), and a private group in Laramie Wyoming that does a clinic in Casper but tries to take patient to Laramie (2 ½ hours away) for surgery.   Reality is we don’t really have any significant competition in the area.

We have the only trauma center in the region in our area.   We have 2 employed trauma surgeons that cover 10-14 days a month each and the partners cover the remaining 4 or 5 days a month.

The trauma center in town also has an “east campus” which is an orthopedic and spine center that functions as an overnight stay outpatient facility.   It is new and is fully functional now.  It is planned to allow surgeons to flip rooms and be efficient.    Our surgery center is 2 rooms and is designed to flip rooms and maximize efficiency.   We do have 2 rooms overnight capacity in our surgery center.
